Was your life touched by Jack Lallane? You may be surprised.

Francois Henri "Jack" LaLanne (September 26, 1914 – January 23, 2011) Dies at 96 One of my earliest memories is watching Jack LaLanne on my grandmother’s black and white TV. Her TV is the first TV I remember. It was in the 1960’s when no one had a color TV or cable. I remember being impressed by Jack then and he has always been an inspiration to me, especially as I grow older and see that no matter the age I can stay physically fit. Every time I saw him in a commercial I would marvel at his vitality and fitness. You should check out his Wikipedia entry, you will be surprised by how you have been touched by LaLanne. According to Wiki: LaLanne designed the first leg extension machines, pulley machines using cables, and the weight selectors that are now standard in the fitness industry. By the 1980s, Jack LaLanne's European Health Spas numbered more than 200. He eventually licensed all his health clubs to the Bally Company, and they are now known as Bally Total Fitness. So if you have ever used on of those standard weight machines or been in Bally Fitness, Jack's vision of health and fitness was part of your life. Jack had a long life that touched millions in ways most will never know. I am saddened to see him go. Another person from my childhood memories died bringing me closer to my own death. It is reported that he one said, “I can’t die. It would ruin my image.”  No, those who knew you and of you will always be inspired by you. You will be missed Jack.
